The Perfect 4-Minute Chai
A good cup of chai doesn't need a long list of ingredients or a complicated recipe. All you need is quality Assam tea, the right blend of spices, and a few minutes on the stove.
At Laahe, we've made it easy with our premium Assam Black Tea and handcrafted Chai Spice Blend, made with dried ginger, holy basil, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and anise seeds.
The result is a bold, aromatic chai that's ready in about 4 minutes.
Why Assam Tea Matters
Chai starts with tea. If the tea is weak, the spices and milk take over.
Our single-origin Assam Black Tea is naturally rich, malty, and full-bodied, giving your chai the strength and character it needs. It stands up beautifully to milk and spices, creating a balanced cup that's flavorful from the first sip to the last.
The 4-Minute Chai Recipe
Ingredients
2 parts water
1 part milk
2 teaspoons Laahe Assam Black Tea
1 teaspoon Laahe Chai Spice Blend
Sweetener of choice (optional)
Method
Add the water and milk to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Add the Laahe Assam Black Tea and Laahe Chai Spice Blend.
Allow the tea to brew until it turns the rich caramel-brown color that great chai is known for.
As the chai begins to rise and approach a boil-over, reduce the heat and bring it to a gentle simmer for about a minute.
Strain into your favorite mug and sweeten if desired.
Serve hot and enjoy.
The Secret Is Watching the Color
If there's one trick to making great chai, it's not the timer. It's the color.
As the Assam tea and spices mingle with the milk, the chai transforms into a deep, rich brown. That's when you know the flavors have come together. A short simmer helps round everything out, giving you a cup that's smooth, aromatic, and perfectly balanced.
Slow Down, Even for Four Minutes
Our name, Laahe, comes from the Assamese word for "slow."
Not because chai should take a long time to make, but because even a few minutes spent brewing a proper cup can be enough to pause, reset, and enjoy the moment.
Four minutes. One pot. Real Assam tea. Real spices.
That's chai the way it should be.
